Sunday Run (Thom McKee)
Thom McKee has kindly worked out a route for Sunday 5 July:
“Starting from Wilton park and ride at 9.30, my planned route would go via Tidworth and Fair Mile to Great Bedwyn, then loop past the Wilton Windmill to a tea/coffee break at Choppers Cafe just south of Burbage. From there through Pewsey, Alton Priors, Marlborough, Broad Hinton, Lyneham, Calne, Bromham and Rowde to the Caen Hill Locks for lunch.
Following this would be a return to the start point via Potterne, Tilshead, Shrewton, Bulford, Amesbury and round the north of Old Sarum. I would expect some to make a break for home during this last section.
So only a two-break ride covering about 118 miles in total. I would hope to finish by 3.30pm.
There is a £4 parking charge per vehicle at the Caen Hill Locks car park, but I have contacted them asking if they will allow one charge per car space occupied. Negotiations ongoing at time of writing. However the monies do go to the Canal & River Trust.”
