The scenic route will take 2 hrs 45 min plus a tea stop. So I’m going to allow 3 hrs 30min to get there. It will be 1 hr 40min back via the fast route without stops.

We will be shown around and enlightened about what they do in the testing, research and development of engines, transport and energy and the future of global climate agendas. A lot of what they do is of the highest secrecy with client confidentiality hence the evening visit. They are global experts in their field and have come a long way since I worked there in the late 1970’s when it was just a few sheds testing diesel engines. So it’s a rare opportunity not to be missed.

There is a limit of 20 club members or guests allowed in the facility on a first come first served basis.
